You know the routine.
Open the app. Type "chicken". Scroll through 50 entries. Pick the one that looks closest. Guess the weight. Save. Do it again for the rice.
Do that three times a day and you have a second job.
Here is my problem with it. Not that it is slow, although it is. My problem is that the effort goes to the wrong place. You spend your willpower on getting the number "right" and you have none left for the thing that changes your body, which is showing up tomorrow.
The goal was never a perfect log. The goal is a log you will still keep in week six.
So here is how it works in LastCall:
- Say it. "Had a chicken burrito bowl with extra rice." That is it.
- Or send a photo. Scully looks and gives an estimate.
- You confirm. Nothing is saved until you do. If the estimate is off, you fix it.
That last part matters. An estimate is a guess. I would rather you see it, correct it, and trust the record, than have an app silently log whatever it thinks it saw.
